Nursery Program

AM Sessions 9AM – 11:30AM
PM Sessions 12:30PM – 3PM

St. Paul’s Lutheran School is truly proud of our excellent Nursery program. Our dedicated teaching staff and small class size provide an excellent atmosphere for students to learn and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. All classes have a full-time teacher and a full-time aide. Children regularly attend chapel with the pastor, and with guidance from God, we walk each day with Jesus.

Each level of our nursery program promotes socialization, Kindergarten readiness, fine and large motor skills, self reliance and self esteem. Cultural arts opportunities such as Native American culture, puppetry, circus day, and others are provided by the CEA (Christian Education Association, our parent association).

Our teachers are available to speak with the parents each day at dismissal. Snack is provided daily. Parents provide student transportation for our Nursery program.

3 Year Old Program Tuesday & Thursday AM&PM
  Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM&PM
  Monday thru Friday AM&PM

As Christian educators we promote and foster an understanding of Christian beliefs through prayer, songs and Bible stories. We believe the most important aspects of our program are social behavior and self care skills. We model loving, respectful behavior for the children so they will treat others with love and respect.
The children are encouraged to become appropriately independent.
Our 3 year old program features fine and gross motor skills, speech and language development, science, math and cognitive skills. The children also participate in library programs. The 3 year olds take “walking” field trips, accompanied by parents/guardians, during the year to sites like the East Northport Public Library, East Northport Fire Department and Long Island RailRoad Station.

4 Year Old Program Monday, Wednesday, Friday AM&PM
  Monday thru Friday AM&PM

Continued focus on Christian education means the children will recognize the Bible as God’s word, understand God’s love and recognize the religious significance of Christmas and Easter. Our 4 year old program fosters additional advancements in gross and fine motor skills, cognitive skills and social behaviors and in self care. Science, math, social studies and health take a more important role in everyday learning. The children also participate in music and library programs. Children participate in “walking” field trips, accompanied by parents/guardians, to local sites as well as a car trip to the Vanderbilt Planetarium.

Kindersteps Monday thru Friday
  AM Session 8:15AM – 11:30AM
  PM Session 12:30PM – 3:15PM

Kindersteps is an innovative and unique program offered to Kindergarten aged children that offer them the gift of an additional year of nurture and readiness before they attend Kindergarten. The children experience continued measured growth in social studies, math and health. Their religious lessons will show them to recognize the cross as a sign of Jesus and that God loves all people, even those who believe differently than we do. Science has at least one formal lesson each month where skills such as measuring, collecting samples, making observations and predictions and problem solving are developed. Cognitive skills are enhanced and children are taught more spatial concepts. They learn to better and more appropriately express their thoughts and feelings and to demonstrate an expanded use of language. Gross and fine motor skills, social behaviors and self care are cultivated and stressed as more important, everyday activities. Kindersteps children participate in off site field trips, both walking and by bus. They are also introduced to our enhanced curriculums by way of participating in computer class, art class, physical education, library and music.
