Youth News

 

We have lots of exciting happenings planned for our teens this Spring.  We visited Samantha’s Lil Piece of Heaven on Larkfield Road in East Northport on Friday, February 15 for a Squeaky Clean Comedy Night.  The comedians were funny, and some of us even won prizes – tickets to return to Samantha’s in the future!  We will definitely keep this place as one of our regulars to visit.

 

We’re planning to attend Grace Lutheran Church, Smithtown, evening service on Sunday, February 24, where the service is less traditional and filled with contemporary music.  We have enjoyed other evening services there in the past, and we will be planning several trips to other contemporary services for our teens during the spring.

 

We are also planning to take the teens ice skating in March.  We need to know who plans on coming with us so that we can arrange car pools.  You can call or email me, Mrs. Bienwald, Mrs. Wibben or Jeremiah Zeltman to let us know you want to join us.

 

Our regular meetings will be interspersed throughout the spring, as well, and the dates will be listed in the weekly bulletins.  Hope to see you all at any and all of the planned events.

 

Our Teen Choir continues to amaze and inspire us, singing on the third Sunday of the month.  We continue to accept new members and now have a drummer!  We are so excited to continue to sing praises to our Lord and make a joyful noise with rehearsals every Sunday after church.  Come down and see us!

 

Don’t forget Magic and Muffins (and MORE) – the fundraiser for our Work Camp teens  – being held on Saturday, March 8, in our Youth Building beginning at 10:00 a.m.  There is a $5 cover charge which includes the entertainment and …. muffins!  Please keep our Work Campers in your prayers as they work to raise money to send them to Darby, Pennsylvania this summer to work on homes of families in less fortunate circumstances.
